The beamer class is a LaTeX class that allows you to create a beamer presentation. It can also be used to create slides. The official homepage is here: http://latex-beamer.sourceforge.net/.
After playing a while with it, I've created a small slideshow that presents some features of Beamer:
You can download the presentation in PDF format (684kb). But since it is good to learn by looking at codes other people wrote, you can download also the original TeX file (6.6kb) and the archive (tar.gz, 265kb) containing all the images you'll need to create it correctly.
I didn't find it first but there is a very good Beamer user guide. It is very useful (even for non-beamer aspects like the guidelines for creating a presentation)!
Examples of presentations
You'll find here some examples of presentations I made with LaTeX Beamer:
- Random Field Theory in functional imaging, January 2006
- Messagerie instantanée sous GNU/Linux (introduction to Instant Messaging under GNU/Linux), March 2006
